A number of mental health specialists at the Douglas (clinicians, scientists, professionals, etc.) wish to share their knowledge and expertise. Since the simplicity and effectiveness of blogs make them ideal communication tools, the idea for the Douglas blogosphere was born. Douglas blogs must meet one of the following objectives:
- Educate the public about mental health issues to demystify mental illness.
- Share knowledge about mental health (in care, research or teaching) with workers and scientists in the health field.
The blogger commitment
Bloggers may participate on a voluntary and spontaneous basis. However, they must commit a certain amount of time to managing and moderating their blogs while respecting our "Blogger Rules". Bloggers are also solely responsible for the content of their blogs.
Participate in the Douglas Blogosphere
Blogs are a way to open up dialogue and debate. All visitors are invited to share their opinions and experiences and to post questions directly on each blog.
To be a blogger at the Douglas, you must:
- Work at the Institute
- Be passionate and self-motivated
- Like to write and have a good writing style
- Read and agree to the Douglas Blogger Rules
Do these criteria apply to you? Then email a request to the Communications and Public Affairs Department, at info_At_douglas_dot_qc_dot_ca, indicating the main theme and objectives of your blog.
