Montpellier University Honoris Causa
Montpellier University Honoris Causa Degree is one of the most prestigious awards as it arbours the oldest faculty of medecine in the world. It rewards the work of a pioneer in the etiology and treatment of Alzheimer's Disease.

2003

CIHR Institute of Aging Investigator Award
CIHR established the Institute of Aging "to support research, to promote healthy aging and to address causes, prevention, screening, diagnosis, treatment, support systems, and palliation for a wide range of conditions associated with aging.

2001

CSCC Investigator Award
He receives the 2001 Canadian Society for Clinical Chemistry (CSCC) Investigator Award for his seminal work in the field of Alzheimer's disease (presented in Chicago, Illinois).

1999

Jonas Salk Award
The Jonas Salk Award is presented annually to a Canadian scientist, physician or researcher who has made a new and outstanding contribution in science or medicine to prevent, alleviate or eliminate a physical disability.
Prix André-Dupont
The Prix André-Dupont is annually awarded by the Club de Recherches Cliniques du Québec (CRCQ) to recognize the excellence of biomedical studies by a young researcher with no more than 10 years' experience in independent research.

1998

CCNP Innovations in Neuropsychopharmacology Research Award
The Innovations in Neuropsychopharmacology Research Award is designed to recognize innovative research in neuropsychopharmacology. It shall be presented annually for work done primarily in Canada by Canadian scientists unless there is, in view of the Awards Committee, no qualified nominee.

Prix Galien Research
The Prix Galien Canada is the most prestigious award in the field of Canadian pharmaceutical research and innovation. Referred to as the Nobel Prize of pharmaceutical research, it recognizes the efforts and achievements of pharmaceutical research and development. This price is composed of two awards, the PRIX GALIEN RESEARCH recognizes the outstanding contribution of a researcher or a research team to the Canadian biopharmaceutical research.

1996

Parke-Davis International Award
He wins the first Parke-Davis International Award, worth $50,000 (U.S.), for research leading to the advancement of knowledge in Alzheimer Disease. The Parke-Davis Award is established by the American Society for Experimental Pathology to honor research contributions by members under 40 years of age.
Personality of the Year
He is named Personality of the Year by L'Actualité - one of the five leading personalities in the field of science in Quebec.
