Profile
Since his arrival at the Douglas Institute in 1998, Jacques Tremblay has been actively involved in quality assurance, and in improving the safety of medication use. He provides consultation services for persons with dual disorders, presenting with substance use/induced disorder and mental illness, and is involved in teaching medical students, psychiatry residents, staff, and colleagues about the diagnosis and treatment of dual disorders, as well as epidemiological methods.
As a researcher, Jacques Tremblay has contributed to the field of clinical epidemiology, with the introduction of Drug Use Review, a quality assurance approach to medical prescribing, and assessment of the quality of medical care with explicit criteria in Canada. He has been a Carnegie Commonwealth Fund Research Fellow, a Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Clinical Scholar, and a Health & Welfare Canada Research Fellow and National Health Scholar.
His current research deals with community psychiatry, and with the assessment of:
