Profile
Martin Lepage, PhD is exploring several inter-related dimensions of schizophrenia and other psychoses through the use of various clinical, neurocognitive and neuroimaging techniques, such as:
- MRI and fMRI
- Diffusion Tensor Imaging (DTI)
- Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (rTMS)
- Neuropsychological testing
- Cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT)
- Cognitive remediation
His approach is motivated by a desire to better understand cognitive symptoms that often characterize schizophrenia like:
- Memory difficulties
- Avolition (extreme apathy and loss of drive)
- Anhedonia (inability to experience pleasure)
- Poor insight
- etc.
With this new understanding, Martin Lepage hopes to develop research programs that will have significant clinical applications.
