Many mental health problems and disorders can be detected and managed within adequately prepared primary care settings. This is especially important in resource-poor countries. The Montreal WHO/PAHO-CC has been working along with several partners and countries to support this kind of transformation of mental health care in novel. Innovation, relevance and access to appropriate care are part of the equation, and all are contributing to lessen the role of institutional and high-stigma settings. Here are the four projects:
