| The Effect of a Combined versus a Conventionnal Cognitive-Behavior Treatment for Comorbid Generalized Anxiety Disorder and Panic Disorder with Agoraphobia |
The principle objective of this study consists of verifying the pertinence and the efficacy of an intervention for individuals presenting a comorbid condition of generalized anxiety disorder (GAD) and panic disorder with agoraphobia (PDA).
Phase I : Assessment
Two assessment interviews will determine if you can participate in this study.
Phase II : Treatment
You will receive an individual cognitive-behavioural psychotherapy during 14 weeks (one hour/week). This therapy is conducted by a licensed psychologist.
Phase III : Follow-ups
Follow-ups will be made 16 weeks after the beginning of treatment, as well as 3, 6 and 12 months after the end of treatment to assess your progress.
You may be eligible to participate if you:
- Are between 18 to 65 years of age
- Worry excessively about everything
- Have panic attacks and agoraphobia (e.g. fear or avoidance of places or situations from which escape might be difficult).
