The Douglas Institute Foundation is launching its major campaign Wednesday October 9 during Mental Illness Awareness Week. For the kick-off, Douglas donors and partners are invited to attend the unveiling of two art works by young patients at the Douglas Institute that were created under the direction of artist Armand Vaillancourt. Guests will be invited to complete the collective work, which will be raised in the main entrance of the central (Perry) and child psychiatry (Bond) pavilions.

The day after the launch, the Douglas invites you to a screening of Gravity, courtesy of Cinémas Guzzo, the proceeds of which will go towards cutting-edge research and development of mental health treatment at the Douglas. Throughout October, a 30-second ad will air at all Cinémas Guzzo screenings to encourage movie-goers to make a donation to the Douglas.

On Sunday, October 20, the Douglas invites the public to walk for mental health alongside the spokespeople for MONTREAL WALKS for mental health: Shea Emry of the Montreal Alouettes and actress Véronique Bannon. The goal of this march is to raise money to improve mental health services.

On Tuesday, October 29, Mini-Psych School is starting a new season with the theme of women's mental health. Sophie Grégoire is the ambassador of this year's school, which will address subjects from anxiety and self-image to sleep and the impact of hormones on mental health.

Reminder
