We take great pleasure in announcing that Jean-Bernard Trudeau, MD, director of Professional and Hospital Services at the Douglas received the 2006 Hector L. Bertrand Award on September 21 by the Association des cadres supérieurs de la santé et des services sociaux. The award is presented during the association’s annual meeting in recognition of excellence by senior administration in the area of health care and services organization.

In addition to his responsibilities as DPHS, Jean-Bernard Trudeau is medical chief of the Shared Care Program and a general practitioner with privileges in the Douglas Hospital Department of Psychiatry.

In 2002, he was presented with a medical leadership award by the Association des hôpitaux du Québec for outstanding organization of mental health services. In addition, Jean-Bernard Trudeau chaired a committee of experts on the modernization of professional practices in mental health and human relations for 2 years (2004-2005)—a mandate conferred upon him by the Office des professions du Québec. The committee’s report was released last February.
