This year's Annual General Meeting had a new format that was more interactive and contemporary thanks to videos, interviews, personal stories and presentations. Claudette Allard, President of the Board of Directors, and Lynne McVey, Executive Director, are proud to acknowledge the success of this meeting, which was held on Thursday, December 6.

This year's guests included many of our partners and donors along with members of the SPVM (Poste de quartier 16), members of the Boards of Directors, some of our Verdun neighbours.

The meeting started with a moving story from Janina Komaroff, a research assistant in recovery, followed by a presentation of the Institute's financial report and a video of the local complaints commissioner. Three members from the Boards of Directors at the Douglas shared highlights from the past year through a series of interviews.

David H. Eidelman, MDCM, Dean of Medicine at McGill University, was the guest speaker. Dr. Eidelman used his presentation not only to underscore the importance of promoting mental health issues for our society but also to emphasize McGill's proud collaboration with the Douglas to advance research and excellence in care.

The Douglas handed out two awards to our partners in recognition of their outstanding achievements. The first was given to Mary Campbell for her dedication to Douglas patients for nearly 30 years and her exceptional work to improve their quality of life. Alain Laroche was also recognized for his commitment to improving the image of Verdun and to making the Douglas an integral part of the Verdun community.

The evening ended with music and refreshments for our guests, who definitely enjoyed the new format.

See you next year!
