Complaints Review Committee of the Board of Directors
The Complaints Review Committee of the Board of Directors of the Douglas Institute consists of three members. The President is appointed among the elected or coopted Directors of the Board. The remaining two (2) members shall be appointed, from among the Directors of the Board, by the Board upon recommendation by the Council of Physicians, Dentists and Pharmacists (CDPD) of the Douglas.
Responsibilities
The Committee is mandated to review complaint files put together by the Medical Examiner and to ensure that the review performed by the Medical Examiner has been carried out with diligence and a sense of fairness. It must also ensure, if such is the case, that the conclusions reached by the Medical Examiner respect the rights of the parties involved as well as applicable professional standards and norms.
