On May 29th, "Because we care" fundraising event was held to support the ADHD clinic of the Douglas Mental Health University Institute. The Douglas Foundation is grateful to Andrée Mathieu for her dedication in orchestrating this event and for making it such a success. This initiative helped raise $3,295 which will be use for social skills workshops as part of a specialized summer camp for kids with ADHD treated at the Douglas Institute.

More than 90 guests attended this event at Griglia D'Oro Restaurant in Lasalle to support the cause. During the evening, the musical Group Night Shift (Keren Cromar, Glen Bowser, Brian Gallagher and Dan Gallant) offered an energetic performance. The guests could also participate in a silent auction; the Douglas Foundation and Andrée Mathieu would like to thank all the sponsors for their donations : Best Buy, Sharp Canada, Lucent Diamonds, Vélos TREK, Lindt et Multilettrages +.

"It is essential to take the time to make a difference", said Andrée Mathieu, organizer of this event. Indeed, her leadership will benefit many children treated at the Douglas Institute who will be able to participate in the Douglas' special summer camp. The Douglas Institute Foundation and the kids suffering from ADHD would like to thank in particular Natalie Grizenko, M.D., FRCPC and Ridha Joober, M.D., Ph.D. who actively participated in promoting the event. Special thanks also to the volunteers: Lucie Brault, Angèle Delaunois, Nikki Gallager, Brian Gallager, Lucie Giguère, Céline Giguère, Suzanne Girard, Alessa Grizenko and Alena Kirby, and the donors. Once again, your generosity changes lives.
