$27,200 raised during closing night!

The 4th edition of the exhibit and auction held at the Wellington Centre in support of Les Impatients was a success on every level! The keen interest of all who attended was evident from the event’s opening to the auction held on the final evening and called by “auctioneer” Camillo Zacchia. Close to 500 visitors admired or acquired the striking works created by Les Impatients and the artists who embraced the cause to ensure the continuation of the art therapy workshops.

At closing night on May 13, artists Régine and Jennifer took to the podium to talk about the pivotal role that art has played in their day-to-day lives. Régine said that taking part in the workshops is the motivation that gets her out of the house; the time she spends with her brushes and pencils helps her to socialize and become more independent. Jennifer was proud to announce that she is going back to school and that she now feels equipped to embrace all that life offers! The audience was clearly moved by these heartfelt testimonials.

Lorraine Palardy, President and Founder of Les Impatients, took advantage of the opportunity to acknowledge Barry Crago, Clinical-Administrative Chief of Psychosocial Rehabilitation Services at the Douglas Institute, who will soon be retiring. “It is because of Barry that Les Impatients offer workshops here at the Wellington Centre. In fact, the group has joined together to create a set of works just for you. We will miss you!” she stated.

Honorary co-chairs Kitanha Touré and Jean-Pierre Desrosiers thank all of you who so supported the cause with so much enthusiasm. They also applaud the participation of Les Impatients and the artists, volunteers, spokespeople Alain Labonté and Claude Demers, and Cooke-Sasseville.

Thanks also go to the event’s partners: Carrefour Angrignon; Première Moisson Marché Atwater; Fasken Martineau; Desjardins Business; Robert Coallier; Sahondra Breault, Real Estate Agent, Royal Lepage Altitude; Morin Public Relations; Saputo; Adams & Royer; and Léon Tourian.

We look forward to seeing you next year at the 5th edition !
