It’s official! The event was a resounding success! The women’s Défi du Parc national de la Mauricie cycling team recently raised $12,300 by hosting a happy hour fundraiser in Shawinigan, with proceeds going to the Douglas Mental Health University Institute, a facility within the CIUSSS de l’Ouest-de-l’Île de Montréal.

Almost 400 people answered the call and attended the fundraising event, one of many, which also featured a raffle with more than $3,000 in prizes.
Established in 2012, Équipe Féminine du Parc National de la Mauricie is made up of some 250 women of all ages at all levels of fitness and from all regions of Quebec who have decided to take charge of their own health. Nicknamed Les Roses, the women are currently training for the 105 km des Défis du Parc, one of the toughest challenges in Eastern Canada.

The group has generously chosen mental health and the Douglas Institute as the recipients of all of their fundraising efforts. So far, they've achieved to raise up to 100 000 $.
