The Board of Directors of the Douglas Institute Research Centre is proud to welcome seven new distinguished members:

Me Francois Morin is still serving as President of the Board but is now supported by Vice-President Ms. Jocelyne Monty, a philanthropist and former Chair of the Board of Directors of the Mental Illness Foundation. Mr. Donald Prinsky, President of Donald Prinsky Consulting Services, is now acting as Treasurer and is also chairing the Research Centre’s Finance and Auditing Committee.

The new members also include Alain Gendron, PhD, Medical Advisor at AstraZeneca Canada, who has extensive experience designing and improving existing pharmacology treatments at university research centres. Patrice Roy, PhD, is Director of Scientific Affairs at Pfizer Canada and supervises clinical trials, particularly in the field of mental health.

Abraham Fuks, MD, is a professor in the Department of Biomedical Ethics at McGill University and former Dean of the Faculty of Medicine at McGill University. His continued interest in clinical research ethics will certainly be of great benefit to the members of the Board.

Ridha Joober, MD, PhD, will add his expertise as a clinical researcher and his knowledge of the benefits and limitations of medication in mental health.

Finally, Mariana Newkirk, PhD, Assistant-Dean of Research at the Faculty of Medicine at McGill University, has been recognized for her contributions to the advancement of immunology in Canada.

The other members of the Board include Mr. Jacques Hendlisz, Director General; Ms. Jane H. Lalonde, President of the Foundation; Rémi Quirion, PhD, Scientific Director of the Research Centre; Ms. Jocelyne Lahoud, Administrative Director of the Research Centre; Mr. Michel Dalton, CGA, Director of Financial and Informational Resources; Gaston P. Harnois, MD, Director of the Montreal WHO Collaborating Centre; and Mr. Vincent Corbo, Student Representative.
