In April, Naguib Mechawar, PhD, Director of the Quebec Brain Bank, took part in a report that aired on Daily Planet, the daily science show of Discovery Channel Canada. The Daily Planet team came to Montreal to film at the Douglas Institute.

The report took a detailed look at the work performed at the Brain Bank, such as collection, conservation, and laboratory procedures. The film crew covered every inch of the lab and provided a rare opportunity to showcase —and demystify— mental health research in Montreal and at the Douglas Institute in particular.

"The Daily Planet report was a good representation of our work. But we still have more to do to showcase the Brain Bank at the Douglas", explained Naguib Mechawar.

Created in 1980, the Quebec Brain Bank has nearly 3000 human brains. It is one of only two banks of its kind in Canada.
