The Douglas Institute, in collaboration with la Coopérative abondance urbaine solidaire (CAUS), launched its first aquaponic system. Aquaponics is a mix between aquaculture - the culture of fish - and hydroponics - the culture of plants in water. This is a one-year pilot project. The patients at the Douglas will be responsible for monitoring the health of the fish and plants.
